Prokhoshin, Aleksei ; Kunštát, Miroslav (advisor) ; Filipová, Lucie (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the topical issue of the asylum policy, which is one of the most pivotal topics in contemporary German politics. It focuses on the state politics of Baden- Württemberg and deals with one political party, namely the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, which is one of the key actors on the state level. This thesis analyses the period 2011-2021, so it intentionally avoids the Ukrainian refugee crisis as a consequence of Russian aggression. The bachelor's thesis presents basic information about the position of the CDU on asylum policy and provides the historical context of immigration to Germany and specifically to Baden-Württemberg. Afterwards, it analyses the development of the attitude towards the asylum policy of CDU Baden-Württemberg's key personalities chronologically, also analysing the argumentation of their stances, for which primary and secondary sources are used. The primary sources are session protocols from the Landtag of Baden-Württemberg; the secondary sources are regional news articles and several chosen monographs, which serve to provide the thesis with political and social context, which is crucial for a more precise interpretation of CDU Baden-Württemberg politicians. Based on the conducted analysis, one may conclude that the biggest shift in...

Hamplová, Martina ; Pešek, Jiří (advisor) ; Nigrin, Tomáš (referee)
The rigorous thesis "Migration waves in the Federal Republic of Germany between northern and southern states post 1989" deals with internal migration and focuses on the citizens of Germany and their movement within the country after 1989. The main area of focus is the depopulation of the northern part of Germany and the related 4 immigration of specific migration groups to one of both southern German states. This rigorous thesis surveys the migration streams in this territory for the period between 1990 and 2008 and analyzes their influence on the demographic changes and transformations of the local socio- economic structure. In the theoretical section, the appropriate basic terms relating to the area of migration research are explained. A concrete survey of migration streams between northern and southern Gemany is introduced in two case studies. The first deals with the northern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Using this example, the problems of depopulation in the north of Germany are discussed. Whilst considering the importance of these problems, the consequences of migration for this state and the attitude of the local policy surrounding this issue are described. Representative of the southern part of Germany, the state of Baden-Württemberg is introduced whose population has been growing...
The Green party in Baden-Württemberg and Saxony-Anhalt. Analysis of differences in voting behaviour
Myslíková, Adéla ; Handl, Vladimír (advisor) ; Šafařík, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of voting behaviour towards the Green Party in Germany. The paper focuses specifically on the elections to the Landtag in 2016, in the two Länder Baden-Württemberg and Saxony-Anhalt. The Green Party achieved completely different results in these two elections, winning the elections in Baden-Württemberg and barely getting to the Landtag in Saxony-Anhalt. These two Länder serve as examples of the differences between the old and new Länder, which persist for almost 30 years after German reunification. The thesis tries to find answers to the questions of what specific differences in electoral behaviour towards the Green Party and its topics exist in the new and old Länder, what are the reasons and what are the consequences for German politics. The first theoretical part of the thesis presents the factors of voting behaviour, which are divided into long-term and short-term. In the second analytical part of the work, is this theory applied to a comparative case study of the two mentioned elections, which are compared on the basis of factors of voting behaviour. That means differences in the history and economic situation of Länder, the history of the Green Party and its typical voters. The party's election program, the competencies assigned to party by voters and...

Volfová, Barbora ; Eberle, Jakub (advisor) ; Rydel, Jan (referee)
This thesis concerns the support for the AfD in the federal states Bremen, Saxony-Anhalt, and Baden-Württemberg. In particular, the goal is to explain the support for the AfD among the eligible voters of Bremen, Saxony-Anhalt, and Baden-Württemberg at the most recently elections held in Bremen on 10 May 2015 and in Baden-Württemberg and Saxony-Anhalt on 13 March 2016. This is a disciplined, interpretive case study, which uses the existing models of voting behaviour to explain the voting for the AfD in Bremen, Saxony-Anhalt, and Baden- Württemberg. It employs a sociological model of voting behaviour and a model of rational choice. The goal is to determine whether the support for the AfD in the three selected federal states can be explained using these models of voting behaviour, and if so, which model of voting behaviour best explains the support for the AfD. First, the thesis presents the models of voting behaviour that are used in the study for analysis of the support for the AfD. The next portion of the thesis deals with the party Alternative for Germany. The section of the thesis that follows is devoted to the actual analysis of support for the AfD, first in Baden- Württemberg and then in the federal states Saxony-Anhalt and Bremen. The answers to the research question are presented at the...
